On the newest episode of Comics and Chronic the guys are joined by guest Hunter Saling. Hunter Saling is an actor and comedian, most notably one-third of sketch group Business Casual. You can see him next in the trio’s new show, “COWBOYS” with dates in January throughout California. Hunter has been reading comics for as long as he can remember and plans to continue reading them until he can’t remember anything. Tonight they discuss Umbrella Academy (the comic).
The Umbrella Academy is an American comic book series created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. It follows a dysfunctional family of adopted superherosiblings with bizarre powers attempting both to save the world and find their place within it. Published intermittently by Dark Horse Comics, the comic is released in six to seven issue limited series, typically lasting six issues. Since 2007, three volumes have been published, as have two spin-offs. The fourth volume of the main series is currently in development.
Do the guys like this more than the TV series? What comics did Hunter get into when he was young? Was this comic inspired by 9/11? Did Jake not know this comic’s writer was also the singer of My Chemical Romance? Find out the answers to these and more on the newest episode of Comics and Chronic!
